Annual Christmas High Tea Tradition + Tea Sandwich recipe
Dec 09, 2025
Last week we celebrated our Annual Christmas High Tea Tradition + I have a delicious Festive Curry Chicken Salad Tea Sandwiches Recipe for you to try out**
There is something magical about December when we choose to slow down…
to set a beautiful table,
to invite others in,
to create rituals that whisper belonging and warmth.
Each year, as the season turns cozy and candlelit, we celebrate my daughter’s birthday with a Christmas High Tea — a tradition that has become one of the most cherished rhythms of our home. It’s gentle, intentional, nostalgic… and always reminds me of the sisterly warmth found in Little Women.
This tradition was inspired years ago when I read Sally Clarkson’s The Lifegiving Home. Her beautiful vision of a Christmas High Tea — a gathering centered on love, hospitality, and meaningful connection — rooted itself deep within me. From that seed, this tradition blossomed into our own family ritual.
A moment to create beauty.
A moment to bless others.
A moment to reach out to those who may feel alone.
Because ’tis the season to give your time and your heart.
✨ Creating Your Own Christmas High Tea Tradition
You don’t need much to begin:
🫖 A small table dressed with something lovely
🌹 A candle or fresh greenery
🍊 A few festive treats
💌 And one or two people you long to bless
Invite a friend or neighbor.
Invite someone who may not have family nearby.
Invite someone who needs a gentle reminder that they matter.
High Tea becomes the backdrop…
but the gift is presence.
✨ Our Favorite Festive Tea Menu
Each year we prepare:
– Curry Chicken Salad Tea Sandwiches
– Dainty Cranberry Orange Sparkle Cupcakes
– Chocolate Peppermint Truffles
– Warm Scones with Clotted Cream
